Final destination - PRINCE RUPERT!

We pulled out of Fort Telkwa in the pouring rain about 8:15 yesterday.  That is the first rain we've had and it had rained all night.  It was really good for the truck and trailer to get a wash because they had quite a collection of dead bugs... YUK!  Anyway - by the time we had gone about 20 miles the rain had stopped.  We drove through a little place called New Hazelton.
This was in another Native community called Kitwanga.
Also, right at Kitwanga is where you can take Hwy 37
north to Stewart and Hyder Alaska.
After a while, we needed a break.  Too much driving really cramps
up your legs so it's nice to get out and walk around.  This is a nice
Rest Area we found with washrooms and even a sign telling you
how to stretch all the kinks out.

More road construction.  They are doing a good job,
we have found that the roads are really quite good.
This is between Terrace and P. Rupert.  This is what I remember.
Now this is interesting.  The highway goes around this tower
which holds the main power lines but many many years ago the
road used to go right through the tower.  I've included a photo
I found of how it used to be.

Clearing the roadside trees etc. to avoid wild fires.
We Made It!  Finally - Prince Rupert.
