Crossing the Yukon River

Tuesday, August 14th we left Bonanza Gold Campground and made our way through town to the little ferry to cross the Yukon River.  We were quite lucky as the ferry was just leaving and we were able to get on the next one.  Once across on the other side we proceeded up The Top of the World Highway for about 7 miles where we found a nice gravel pull-out to set up for the night.  We took this opportunity to just sit outside and enjoy the quiet.  It was sunny and warm with a slight breeze to keep the mosquitos away.

Around 5pm 2 other support vehicles pulled into the gravel pull-out and set up beside us for the night.  We all shared a great cookout and headed for bed around 10:30.
