Whitehorse to Pelly Crossing

Thursday, August 9th we pulled out of the Pioneer RV Park at 9am and made our way toward Carmack to meet up with the MV Convoy for lunch.

One of the Rest Areas along the way.

Information on the big fire of 1998.
We rolled in around 11:45 and the people of Carmacks greeted us with a lunch of BarBQ hamburgers.  The MVs started arriving about 12:30 so it wasn’t a long wait.

Lunch break in Carmacks.

Another beautiful view.

After re-fueling  we departed at 2:15 and made our way towards Pelly Crossing.  When we arrived we found it was just a gas station and store on one side of the highway and a rustic campground on the other.  We set up for dry camping and the MVs pulled in about an hour after the support vehicles.

We had a lot of rain but it did stop by dinner time and was quite a nice evening.  Hot soup and grilled sandwiches for dinner hit the spot.
